Overview

The University of Phayao is committed to reducing inequalities across all dimensions — physical, economic, social, and geographical — with particular emphasis on supporting students with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Policies and Plans

  • Disability Support Services covering essential services and welfare for students with disabilities.
  • Phayao Learning City initiative in collaboration with UNESCO, emphasizing inclusion across all groups.

Implementation

Support for Students with Disabilities

Reducing Educational Inequality

  • Collaboration with the Equitable Education Fund (EEF) and ThaiPBS: addressing compounded inequality and building a database of students at risk of dropping out of the education system.
  • Direct Admission Programme for students in the university's service area: expanding access to higher education for rural youth.
  • Phayao Learning City (UNESCO 2022): promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all groups, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and disadvantaged individuals.

Learning Space for SDGs 2025

  • CESM received the Silver Award at the Learning Space for SDGs 2025 competition.
  • The "Sustainovation Carbon" innovation space was developed to be accessible to everyone.
